2012 PROGRAMME

Training Courses Starting at Loyola Hall

posted on February 13th, 2010

We’re currently preparing for one of the busiest times in the Loyola Hall year -– the Spiritual Accompaniment Courses. Nineteen people are expected to begin level one of the course (SAC 1) on the 15th February. SAC 1 is an introductory course in spiritual accompaniment. It uses presentations, group work, personal reflection, observed practice and individual supervision to create a very practical opportunity to learn the skills of accompaniment. Participants learn to listen contemplatively and develop an appreciation of the variety of experience they may encounter as they accompany others. The course also gives space for participants to reflect on their own experience of God and prayer, as a way of deepening their awareness of how God meets and works with others. That awareness is essential to learning the art of discernment which we see as the heart of spiritual accompaniment in the Ignatian tradition.
