Back to Work, in Belgium
posted on January 4th, 2010
Loyola Hall opens its doors again today after a two-week hiatus. The office is open and all those people who phoned, wrote, or emailed over the Christmas break will at last be able to make their bookings.
A large contingent of the Team has vanished however! They are travelling today to Oude Abdij Ignatian Spirituality Centre in Drongen, Belgium
to join with the staff from some of the other anglophone, European, ignatian spirituality centres for a few days comparing notes and seeking inspiration. This Retreat Houses Conference takes place once every two years and visits a different site each time. It started a good while ago as a meeting of the spirituality centres of the British Province of the Jesuits but has since expanded to take in Ireland, the Netherlands, Flanders, and Malta. If I have counted correctly there will be representatives from Loyola Hall, the Ignatian Spirituality Centre Glasgow, St. Beuno’s in Wales, Mount Street Jesuit Centre London, Manresa Dublin, Ignatiushuis Amsterdam, and the home team from Oude Abdij.
