A Week of Guided Prayer in Rainhill

posted on January 31st, 2010

The work of Loyola Hall doesn’t just happen on site: we have a tradition of offering weeks of guided prayer in various settings like parishes, universities, and prisons.

a figure bedns over a large book -- with the words Speak Lord The next such week of prayer is happening in our own village of Rainhill sponsored ecumenically by the local churches. Anyone is welcome to attend.

Why take part?

Simply to help your relationship with God grow in whatever way God seems to want. Along the way you will also have the rich experience of being listened to attentively and hopefully emerge encouraged and consoled.

What does it involve?

Attending an opening meetingĀ  on Sunday 28th February at 3pm at Loyola Hall.

Committing to praying on your own each day of the week for a comfortable length of time.

Meeting with a personal prayer-guide, one-on-one, each day of the week, Monday-Friday, at a time convenient to both. The guide will listen to what you have been experiencing and help you pay attention to God in your life. Your guide will also give you some helps and suggestions how to pray.

Attending a closing meeting on Sunday 7th March at Loyola Hall at 4pm.

The week isn’t a kind of course nor is it bible study or even a kind of counselling. It doesn’t mean saying a lot of prayers. It isn’t just for those who feel at home in church.

But if you have an open mind and a desire to know God a little better then think about coming along.

Is there a cost involved?

The week is free but a voluntary and anonymous contribution is invited to cover the expenses of the guides.

Contact your local minister for an application form or, if you are unaffiliated, contact Loyola Hall directly.
